Good lighting makes a big difference when you work from home. The right setup helps you avoid glare on your screen and keeps your eyes more comfortable through the day. 1. Put your screen at a right angle to the window Place your desk so the window is on your side, not behind your screen and not behind you. Light from behind the screen makes you squint; light from behind you creates glare on the screen. 2. Use natural light when you can Daylight is the most pleasant light to work in. If the sun is too strong, use a light curtain or blinds to soften it. 3. Add a desk lamp on the side Place a lamp to the side of your screen, not in front of you. If you write with your right hand, put it on the left, so your hand doesn't cast a shadow, and the other way around. 4. Choose a soft, warm-white bulb Very bright or very blue light can feel harsh. A warm-white bulb is gentler for long days, especially in the evening. 5. Match your screen to the room Your screen should not be much brighter or darker than the room around it. Adjust the brightness during the day as the light changes. 6. Rest your eyes Every 20 minutes, look at something far away for about 20 seconds. It's a simple habit that helps your eyes relax.
